The emphasis in REEL ‘N’ ROLL will be on performing and playing music with others on various instruments in a group setting. You will learn new tunes and technique but also improve on the tunes you know already as you play them with the group. You will also learn a few traditional songs.  Each day will finish with a session.  In addition to playing your own main instrument you will also be introduced to the many instruments used in traditional music today e.g. flute, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, concertina, uilleann pipes, bodhrán, bouzouki, guitar and more.  You will also get the chance to do some recording during the week with our studio equipment.  There will be a quiz (with a prize) towards the end of the week based on what has been learned earlier.

REEL 'N' ROLL is open to 9 to 18 year olds and and 2 years playing experience is necessary.  It will run Monday to Friday from 10am to 1pm.  There is a choice of two weeks: 18-22 July 2016 or 8-12 August 2016.  The fee for the week is €80 for 1st child, €70 for 2nd child and €60 for 3rd child in the same family. The workshops will take place in An Trian Láir, Maree, Oranmore, Co. Galway.  For directions to the house click here.
